Turfgrass in Colorado, a semi-arid climate, requires additional irrigation to sustain it's growth. As an alternative, in areas that either do not have access to water, or those where it is cost prohibitive, natural grasses, grains, and alternative turf grasses are selected.
Del Ponte Landscape Company has been involved in the planting of alternative grasses, natural grains, and other xeriscape lawn products for over 2 decades. Let us help you decide which is the right mix for you.
An Example, a Tale of Two Fire's Grass...
Unfortunately for many citizens and property owners in the state, Colorado has seen an uptick in the number of both natural, and man made fires in the last 10 years. To repair the highway's burned out irrigation ditches from these devastating events requires immediate reseeding. This not only covers the ash and keeps it out of the air, but also helps to retain the topsoils alongside the highways burned from impending rains. CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation) and local governments are therefore reseeding as soon as possible but the grasses used for each particular fire zone is Dramatically Different.
